The Design Studio remanufacture new products from reclaimed and salvaged materials prolonging the social history the materials.
 
The Polaroid Corporation was founded by American scientist Dr Edwin H Land in1937. In 1944, Land was asked by his 3-year-old daughter why she could not see the picture he had just taken of her. Her request led to the design and manufacture of the first Polaroid Land Camera that went on sale just before Christmas in 1948. Land ran the company until 1981 and at its peak it employed 21,000 people and a turnover of 3 billion $.
 
Despite Polaroid’s popularity the Polaroid Corporation declared bankrupt in 2001. The ‘new’ Polaroid formed as a result itself declared bankrupt in 2008. In May 2017, the brand and intellectual copyright was acquired the Impossible Project. The Impossible Project was renamed Polaroid Originals in 2017 and changed to simply Polaroid in 2020.
 
The Polaroid P was a fresh and sleek looking instant camera that produced ‘vintage’ looking photos. It featured an automatic built-in flash and came with auto focus lenses with close-up and infinity modes. 
 
The camera is mounted on an IKEA Lauters tripod table lamp in solid Ash finished in matt black. It incorporates a standard SES E14 lamp holder that complies with BS EN 60598. It accommodates any E14 LED bulb saving 85% energy. Comes with an IKEA Ledare 2.3 W 55 mm warm white 2700 80 Lumen bulb (Energy Class A).
